Worried...praying.....hoping they are all ok

I'm writing this blog today with much worry and concern. Those of you that read this know all about my Sister in Law Susan who is pregnant with my twin nieces. I got a call last night that she's been put in the hospital. She is pre-eclamptic. Her BP's were 170/111 at the clinic and from what I hear have not gotten much better. She also has gestation diabetes and a history of seizures. So my nurse brain is screaming at me "OH MY GOD, this is not good" Right now she is in Luther Midelfort in Eau Claire, but... they don't take preemies any earlier than 34 weeks. If she has to deliver before 34 weeks they want to send her to Mayo. (She's 33+3 today) So I suggested strongly that they just send her to Skemp. Not sure what will happen. My thoughts are that she can't stay pregnant much longer at all, without significant risk to all 3 of them. Sometimes I wish I didn't know as much as I do about all of this. It makes me worry that much more, because I know all of the possible outcomes. For the most part 33 weekers do great, but with all the other factors they could be very sick little girls. I would love to have them at "my" hospital so I can see them and know how they are doing. I will update when I know more. Please keep them all in your prayers.

Ok, onto a happier baby note. I got to see the coolest water birth in Tomah last night. It was amazing. I think I'm going to really like L&D.

I will hopefully be updating with good news soon.

Hey Rochelle,
I'm pretty sure I already know the outcome of all of this b/c of where we work, but anyway, I just wanted you to know that it's hard when your a RN and you know more and worry about all the "things" that "could" happen. We ALL do that. "My" twins were born at 32 weeks at GL b/c mom was also pre-eclamptic and they obvs are doing great now. Keep us updated on this!
