Camping Fun

We had so much fun this weekend camping. We went to Brunet Island State park in Cornell. The weather was perfect, it didn't rain at all which was wonderful. It was so wonderful to just get away, I really needed it. The kids were both so good. It was actually nice to take Noah camping this time. In the past he's been a crabby camper. He didn't like the showers, he never slept good, and he never stayed in one place. Well he still doesn't stay in one place, but at least can can run around a little more without me having to follow every step he makes. He did very well in the showers this year and slept all night which was awesome.

The kids had a blast. They got to go Craig's Uncle's fishing boat and do a little fishing. Noah even caught a small fish. Teagan was disappointed that she didn't catch any. But they both loved being in the boat and out on the water.

Just have to share a Noah funny from the weekend. On Friday night I brought the Jiffy Pop popcorn out of the camper to make over the fire and Noah says "Where's the microwave?"

On Saturday we went swimming in the Chippewa River, which wasn't very nice at all. There were a ton of sharp rocks and no sand or beach at all. The water was cold, but that actually felt good. Because of the rocks I kept my croc flip flops on in the water. Well apparently the force from the water while I was walking was too much for my sandals because one of them broke. So on the way home yesterday we made a quick run to Eau Claire and I got 2 new pairs of croc flip flops.

Craig's Mom came to visit on Saturday with her new puppy Bubba. The kids love him so much

We had a friendly little squirrel that frequented our campsites too. He even ate Noah's cup of bite sized oreos that were sitting in the cup holder of the chair while we were at our site. Craig's family brought their dogs with and I swear the squirrel was teasing them. He'd come just close enough for the dogs to see him, but still far enough away that the dogs leashes wouldn't reach him. He was pretty cute.

There was a beautiful dock down on the water that we would go watch the sunsets on and just play around the kids had fun throwing rocks in the water and Noah liked to just sit down in it. So he had to come home in swimming trunks yesterday because he didn't have any clean dry shorts to wear.

I know most of you have heard me talk about Craig's Grandma Iva, who passed away 3 days before Teagan was born and the story of how at my baby shower the day she died there was a butterfly that kept flying around the tent we were in. Now whenever we see a butterfly we believe that it's Grandma Iva checking in on us. Well this weekend there was a butterfly that kept flying threw our campsite and landing on Craig.

I thought I would share a few more of my favorite pics from the weekend.

I'm not sure why part of this blog comes out blue and underlined. I will try to be a better blogger now that we are getting settled at the new house.
