I can't believe that it's January 2011 already. Where did 2010 go? It's gone in the blink of an eye. Looking back I realized just how bad of a blogger I was. Wow.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I was off all of Christmas weekend this year and it was AMAZING. We stayed busy with 4 family gatherings but it was so much fun. HUGE improvement from last year. We had 2 of the 4 gatherings at our house which I think made it much easier and less stressful for me. It was a very good balance of what I wanted for our own family traditions while still keeping some of our extended family traditions. Which if you follow my blog at all you know was a concern for me. I couldn't be happier with how it all turned out.
I am feeling sad tonight as I write this. At 0145 it will be one year since my Grandpa died. I still miss him so much. Christmas wasn't quite the same without him there. I made a photobook for my Grandma of pictures of him and her over the years for Christmas. She loved it and we all cried looking at it. But that lead us into talking about wonderful memories of Grandpa.
I bought a beautiful picture frame that says "Memories.....holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose" I absolutely LOVE that saying. It couldn't be more fitting. I have a picture of Grandma and Grandpa, a picture of our wedding day, a picture of Teagan holding Noah the day he was born, and the picture from last summer with Noah's head on Teagan's shoulder in it. It's hanging in my dinning room and makes me smile every time I see it.
I'm sure 2011 will bring many more memories for us. I've spent a lot of time the last few nights looking through all the pictures from 2010. Kind of my year in review. It still amazes me how much happens in one year. I'm so thankful to be able to share my life with so many family and friends all over the country.
