House update

Wow have we been busy since last Thursday when we closed on the house. We got every room except the bathroom painted. I love all the colors so much. That alone makes the house look totally different.

We also got all the flooring ripped up so we can get the sub-flooring ready for the new laminant flooring, which Craig ordered last night. I'm so excited.

We had a new roof put on yesterday and they also did new gutters. Which we weren't planning on doing, but they needed to be done so my Dad and Craig thought it would be a good idea to just get it done. I was hoping we could wait a little bit and not spend the money right now, but I guess it was good to get it done. It looks so nice.

My Dad and Craig were super busy pulling out ugly shrubs around the house when I was at EMR training on Tuesday. I'm so happy they are gone, now I can work on my rock flower bed in front of the house.

On the to do list for next week...putting in new counter tops and hopefully cupboard doors. Putting a new vanity and medicine cabinet in the bathroom, and if the floors get here putting them in too. After all that is done we should be able to start moving in.

You wouldn't believe some of the ugly 70's stuff we are finding when we rip up flooring and tear down trim. Wow. There was some horrific orange and brown carpet under the carpet in the hallway. Under the trim was some yellow wall paper with fuzzy orange flowers. I found plaid wall paper in the bathroom. The best part is they put ugly brown paneling over sheet rocked walls. Even in the garage. The paneling in the dinning room is down and the wall is painted. The garage will have to wait for awhile though. I left my camera at the house so I'll have to share pictures later. I can't wait for it to be done so we can start moving in.
