As we were playing outside today Teagan found a caterpillar, who she named Midnight because he has a black mouth and feet. Let me tell you trying to explain to a 4 year old why you can't keep a caterpillar as a pet isn't easy.
Teagan was very reluctant and tearful when it was time to go inside. She said "I promise I won't squish him when he sleeps with me." Then she was upset because she doesn't want him to turn in to a butterfly.
So we made him a little bed of leaves and grass in the flower box on the kids playhouse.
This is Teagan saying "Mom, can I PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring him in the house. I promise I will take good care of him."
I had to promise that we will go check on Midnight later this afternoon before it gets dark out to make sure he is ok and that we'd print his picture so Teagan can always remember him. She's so dramatic.
I'm enjoying a nice afternoon with my family. I'm on call for Tomah and I'm really hoping I don't get called in. I've got a cold and would really like to just stay snuggled up under my blanket watching movies.

What a great storyline of photos! Reminds me of a coupole of conversations I've had with my kids. "Why can't I keep the snake Mom, I won't let him escape"...
