We just got back from our overnighter to Green Lake to see my Mom. We left bright and early Monday morning, well a little later than I wanted because we had to come home again after I realized I forgot my purse. I was so worried about making sure I had everything for everyone else I forgot all about it. At least we were at McDonald's in BRF when I realized it.
The kids had so much fun playing on the farm. They got to pick peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, plums, and purple potatoes. The purple potatoes are really neat. They are actually purple and stay purple when you cook them. They taste just like regular white potatoes. They did look a little strange though. The kids thought they were the coolest thing ever.
The kids had so much fun just running around and playing with the kittens on the farm. Noah for some reason just couldn't understand why you need to hold the kitties with their head up instead of their butts up. Then he got upset when he'd get scratched.
I also got a few beautiful sunflower shots. Sunflowers are my favorite flowers, I would take a bouquet of sunflowers over roses any day. My Mom even has some orange ones that are a hybrid sunflower. They are beautiful. Notice the big bumble bee on the yellow one.
My mom took Becca and I to Dartford Cemetery. As you all know this is something I've been talking about for awhile. The place was just creepy even during the day. I got a few pictures. The top one looks like it has some sort of smoke or fog in it on the right side towards the top, I'm pretty sure it's just shadow, but it fun to think I may have just captured something.
We had a blast swimming at Heidel House too. The girls, including Becca loved being thrown up into the air by Craig in the pool. I wish the pictures were better with the girls being thrown, but they are kind of blurry but you get the idea. The kids all slept very well last night. I think we totally wore them out between running around at the farm and swimming at the hotel.
This morning they were getting a little restless while we were waiting for everyone to be ready to leave so I took them for a walk down by the lake. We got to watch the Escapade Yacht dock and some ducks swimming in the lake. I love being by the water. It was so peaceful and quiet. We were the only ones out there. Someday I'll have a vacation house on the a lake or river. (I wish)
Like always I wish our visit could have lasted a lot longer, but between work and lack of funds it just wasn't happening this time. We are going to have to get down there again in Sept or early Oct to get pumpkins and gourds for our Fall/Halloween decorations.
