First blog of 2009

Jan 1, 2009 was insanely busy in FBP. My shift last night was one of the worse I've had in FBP. I had 2 Spanish speaking Moms and my Dora Spanish doesn't come close to cutting it. I also had another very involved pt, plus all 3 babies. Just when I thought I was at least keeping my head above water something else would happen. One baby had low blood sugars, one Mom's IV wouldn't flush, anything stupid little thing that could go wrong did. I was very happy to see nights come in. I just hope I didn't forget anything major. So needless to say I'm very happy that Tomah is slow tonight and I'm on call. Teagan and Noah have been very into snuggling today. Neither one of them are feeling very good. They both have colds and are coughing and sneezing all the time.

Craig family came over yesterday for our New Year's get together and did our white elephant exchange gifts. We ended up with a piece of carpet, an expired can of mixed nuts, and a couple of bottles of partially used body sprays. It was a lot fun.




Craig's Dad got a pair of hunting coveralls that were way too small. We laughed hysterically as he got a major work out getting them on.


Craig's Aunt got an edible bra.


Teagan had to try it on too.

We somehow ended up with a phone that doesn't work that someone else got and left here. The kids are having fun with it though. It's always so much fun to see what everyone comes up with for the gifts. I was glad to see that the bowling ball didn't make it this year. Not sure what happened to that.
I'm going to take a nap with my kids and hopefully stay home all night.
