Grandpa Update

I talked to my Aunt this afternoon. My Grandpa is doing a little better, he's not confused and combative anymore, but otherwise not a whole lot of change. He's having issues with atrial fibrillation and they are talking about maybe putting a pace maker in, but right now there is no way he'd survive surgery. He was off of Bipap, but is now back on. He's just working too hard to breath. His kidneys still aren't putting out hardly anything. I really don't know if he'll make it out of the hospital. If he does they are talking about nursing home, which he is not wanting to hear anything about. There is just no way my Grandma can take care of him. She is suppose to be doing nothing because she has small fractures in her pelvis and hip. And he's not the most cooperative person. I think it's going to be very hard on my family.
Right now they live in a trailer house that has a lot of steps to get into it. There is no way he'll make it up the steps and my Grandma should be going up and down steps either. There is a Senior apartment building in Taylor, where they live that we are trying to get them into. They can even take their dog with them. Please says some extra prayers not only for my Grandpa, but for the rest of the family. I think it's going to take a lot of strength and patience. Our family has always been very good about coming together in crisis, but this is way more than any of us have ever dealt with before.
I think I'm going to head over to Gundersen after I'm done with work and see how everything is going. My Aunt Luanne is spending the night down there tonight. I'm really hoping for an on call tomorrow. I need to catch up on some sleep and some house work.
